IT Support Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on Associate IT Engineer to support and maintain our IT infrastructure, with a primary focus on network operations, server operations, IT support, infrastructure maintenance, security, and IT procurement. 

The role will involve working with network equipment, Linux and Windows systems, servers, workstations, virtualization, remote infrastructure, and RISC-V development boards. The engineer will also support our Cloud-V infrastructure, including board setup, OS installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for environments used by internal and external users. The ideal candidate should be technically capable, proactive, security-conscious, honest, and comfortable handling both technical operations and market/procurement activities.

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including MikroTik, Cisco switches, UniFi access points, Wi-Fi, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and internet connectivity.
• Monitor and maintain Linux and Windows servers, including CPU, RAM, storage, services, system health, updates, backups, and troubleshooting.
• Provide day-to-day IT support to employees, including laptops, desktops, software, printers, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems, including OS installation and reinstallation when required.
• Support and maintain Cloud-V infrastructure, including remote systems and RISC-V development boards used by internal and external users.
• Perform setup, configuration, OS installation/reinstallation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and remote access management for development boards such as SiFive, Jupyter, Banana Pi, and other RISC-V platforms.
• Assist with virtualization, storage, monitoring, networking, and other infrastructure components supporting Cloud-V and other IT services.
• Maintain basic IT security practices across laptops, workstations, servers, network devices, user accounts, and company data.
• Ensure systems are properly secured through security patches, OS updates, antivirus/endpoint protection, access controls, secure configurations, and appropriate account permissions.
• Assist with user account and access management, including onboarding, offboarding, access changes, and removal of access when no longer required.
• Identify and report potential security risks such as phishing, malware, unauthorized access, suspicious activity, insecure configurations, or possible data exposure.
• Conduct regular infrastructure health checks, preventive maintenance, monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Manage IT assets and inventory, including equipment issuance, returns, records, and documentation.
• Conduct regular market visits for IT procurement, source IT equipment and accessories, collect and compare quotations, negotiate with vendors, and support purchasing decisions.
• Maintain good awareness of current IT market rates, product specifications, quality, brands, and alternatives, and coordinate repairs, replacements, and warranty claims.
• Support office IT infrastructure, including CCTV, DVR/NVR, biometric systems, meeting-room technology, network cabling, and other IT equipment.
• Maintain proper documentation and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure IT issues and requirements are resolved on time.

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in IT support, network operations, system administration, or IT infrastructure. Strong fresh graduates with relevant hands-on skills may also be considered.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Good hands-on knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and network troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with or strong understanding of MikroTik, Cisco switches, and UniFi is highly preferred.
• Good working knowledge of Linux operating systems, particularly Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, Red Hat, Fedora, or similar distributions.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Windows administration, server operations, system monitoring, storage, backups, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems on servers and development boards.
• Strong hardware and troubleshooting skills, including laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, servers, and other IT equipment.
• Good understanding of IT security fundamentals, including endpoint security, account security, access control, password/MFA practices, patch management, malware protection, and data protection.
• Good understanding of IT procurement, including market pricing, quotations, product specifications, vendor dealings, negotiation, and price comparison.
• Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and vendor-coordination skills.
• High level of honesty, integrity, confidentiality, transparency, and responsibility, particularly when handling company purchases, vendors, assets, quotations, expenses, user accounts, systems, and company data.

• Experience with RISC-V development boards such as SiFive or similar platforms.
• Experience with Cloud-V, remote labs, data-center infrastructure, or remote hardware environments.
• Experience with VMware, Proxmox, QEMU, or other virtualization technologies.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as PRTG, Grafana, Prometheus, Uptime Kuma, or similar tools.
• Experience with Google Workspace administration.
• Experience with Linux/Windows hardening, endpoint security, vulnerability management, firewalls, or security monitoring.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and relevant certifications such as CCNA, RHCSA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Linux+, or equivalent.
