About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting operations of our growing technology company. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring high-quality bookkeeping, managing payroll, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing timely financial information that helps management make informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Record all financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks.
Ensure every transaction is classified correctly according to the company's Chart of Accounts.
Maintain complete and accurate general ledger records.
Perform bank & credit card reconciliations.
Record prepaid expenses, accruals, depreciation and other adjusting journal entries.
Review accounting entries for accuracy and completeness before month-end close.
Maintain supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
Ensure accounting records comply with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process.
Prepare management financial statements including:
Profit & Loss
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statement
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Prepare month-end working papers and supporting schedules.
Assist with year-end audit preparation.
Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
Verify attendance, leave, overtime and payroll adjustments.
Calculate bonuses, incentives and reimbursements.
Ensure statutory deductions are correctly applied.
Coordinate payroll payments with HR and management.
Maintain complete payroll documentation and confidentiality.
Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Monitor customer receivables.
Follow up on overdue invoices.
Maintain vendor and customer account reconciliations.
Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Assist with tax filings and statutory reporting.
Support audits.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
ACCA, CA (Part Qualified), CMA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience.
Experience in a technology company or professional services organization is preferred.
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
Strong Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills.
Bank reconciliation and month-end closing.
Understanding of accounting controls and documentation.
