Staff Design Engineer

Role Overview: 

10xEngineers is seeking a Staff Design Engineer to lead the microarchitecture and RTL implementation of high-performance silicon IPs. As a senior technical individual contributor, you will drive the design of complex subsystems—including RISC-V cores, AI hardware accelerators, and advanced ISP pipelines. This role requires a deep understanding of PPA (Power, Performance, Area) trade-offs and the ability to translate architectural specs into robust, scalable hardware.

Responsibilities:

• Microarchitecture Definition: Lead the specification and microarchitectural design of complex digital blocks, ensuring alignment with system-level requirements.

• RTL Development: Implement high-quality, synthesizable RTL using SystemVerilog/Verilog, with a focus on timing closure and power efficiency.

• Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert across the design lifecycle, providing guidance on design-for-verification (DFV) and design-for-test (DFT).

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Verification, Physical Design, and Software teams to resolve architectural bottlenecks and ensure first-pass silicon success.

• Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and code reviews for senior and mid-level design engineers to maintain high engineering standards.

Technical Requirements:

• Experience: 8+ years in ASIC design with a proven track record of delivering complex IPs or SoCs.

• Core Skills: Mastery of SystemVerilog and hardware description languages.

• Architecture: Deep knowledge of RISC-V or ARM ISA, AMBA interconnects (AXI, AHB, CHI), and memory controller logic.

• Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard synthesis, linting, and CDC/RDC tools.

• Education: BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Location & Mobility: 

This is a Hybrid role with global flexibility:

• For EU-based candidates: You may be based out of our Barcelona office (valid EU work authorization required), with a requirement to spend 3–4 months per year at our Lahore headquarters to integrate with the core engineering team.

• For Pakistan-based candidates: The role is primarily located in Lahore. Opportunities for relocation to our Barcelona hub may be considered based on business needs and individual performance.
